hi my name is alan and i have a breeding pair of midas or red devil cichlids and would like to know at what point when the fry are young would i be able to segregate the fry from the adult parents or should they be ok being left until a reasonable size any answers appreciated

No need to seperate them if your tank is large enough. You'd have to move them if the parents start to breed again, though.
Otherwise, when the fry are four weeks old. Large enough move easily, and will survive better on the transfer.
