How to Build A Stand for a 57 Gallon Tank???

i have the fish tank now i just need a stand. i dont want to get 1 from the store cuz it cost ALOT lol any advice or prices or websites[with pics] or pics of the ones u built wud b nice

People in my aquarium club use cinderblocks topped with foam and plywood. Seems to work.

for my 55g i found a 6' shelf with 6 shelves and 6" wood. i flipped it on its side and its a perfect stand! cost only 20$ too. daves idea is great too, sturdy and cheap

Here is some pics of mine. I use 4x4's for the legs, 3 or 4 feet tall each I forget. My tank now is right at eye level which is how I wanted it, just make sure the tank isn't too top heavy and the legs are spaced far enough apart.
I spaced my legs far enough apart so the corners of the tank were right on the insides of the legs. I also have a sheet of 3/4" plywood that the tank sits on, I bought a half sheet I think it was which was 3x4 feet or something.

We built a subframe around the tops of the legs to hold them together better as well as cross member about a foot off the ground to hold it so the whole thing wouldn't twist and what not. For this we used 2x4's.

Obviously you are going to need to space your legs wider and a bigger piece of plywood for your tank but I am sure these sizes of wood would hold ur your tank just fine. I am sure my stand could hold up at least a 100 gallon tank if there was more of a surface to fit a 100 gal.

BTW the whole thing cost me about $30 for wood and everything. I had the pain laying around and I put a couple coats of a sealant on it so the water when I dripped it from my tank wouldn't effect the wood as much.
