You can also load your photos in photobucket at the size that is already good for the forum by clicking on the options button then no additional resizing is even needed.

If I may, I've found two pieces of software which are small, free, and do the job.

For Windows XP there is Microsoft Powertoys Image Resizer. Right click the photo, choose resize, choose the size, and save. It saves in the original file type, but MS Paint can change that easily enough (Save As).

For OS X there is ImageWell. Simply drag the photo onto the program, choose the size and file type, and drag the photo back off the program.

I just open the image with paint and resize to 44% .I can then upload the pics straight from the computer instead of needing photo bucket.

Another interesting site that I use, especially for resizing an image for a wallpaper on my phone. It works great! thumbs2:

One suggestion is to use microsoft paint. Open the image, click resize (win 7) or edit--> resize, choose a percentage to shrink, then file save as .jpg.

Seems like this is a dead thread-but I'm able to open up a picture with these steps:

right click-select open with-select Microsoft Office 2010.
The picture opens, select edit the picture.
One option for the edit is for web documents-and it'll decrease the size to work on the forum.
Just another idea!

Or put them on a website like photobucket and set the options to resize them all to 800 x pixels.

Better yet, download Irfanview, a free, simple, easy to use photo editing software.

Open the image in the application, go to Image, click Resize/Resample, pick your settings, and viola! New smaller image, saves you time uploading and allows greater customization.

Thank you for this sticky! I was getting really frustrated with my computer intellect. I am now able to upload pictures...finally.
