I think it is a matter of training the fish that your hand is not something bad. Maybe start by adding the food to the water and keeping your hand nearby? I don't have personal experience in this but I think you should be able to train the fish not unlike other animals?

Put your hand in the tank when you feed him. He will soon habituate your hand as a stimuli. Every few times, move your hand closer to the food. Soon he should eat out of your hand.
