Air Pump Question

I just purchased a Tetra Whisper 60 air pump for my 55g tank. If I turn up the volume enough to get bubbles the pump makes an audible hum louder than the filter noise. Should I get a Whisper 100 or a different brand of air pump? Thanks.

you can silence the pump by puting it in a glass jar, generally the more pricey the pump the quieter. ive had luck with those aquatech or whatever pumps wal-mart sells, really quiet
