Hi everyone,
I am just setting up a new 29 gallon freshwater tank. Unfortunately I am running into a few snags. I live in the mountains and the nearest store is an hour away. Plus I am on a limited budget so ordering online is not an option at the moment. I'm sure I'll get it soon though. I can't handle not having an aquarium!

welcome to ac! for the trips you do make to the store, get a cooler and a battery powered air pump for the trip, that will keep them alive VS. a regular bag

Hello there and welcome!
You live in the mountains? Do ou have any interesting fish in the nearby streams that could go into your tank (if you choose to go coldwater, that is)?

Welcome to AC.
Do the fishless cycle and once done you can take a road trip and pick up fish without worrying about them dying and having to make another road trip.

If there is an Aquarium Club in the area (ask at the pet shop), that's the best way to get information, livestock and equipment. I HIGHLY recommend joining one, or starting one yourself. Best friend a new (or old) tank keeper to have, an Aquarium Club.

Hello Lissie, Welcome to AC! You came to the right place for help with your snags. Feel free to ask any questions you have, someone will be by to help you out the best we can. That's what we are all here for, Help or helping out...You are very smart by coming to find out info at the start of setting up your tank...saves you money and helps build your knowledge as you go along, instead of being blind and messing things up before ya get a chance to really start. Good Luck with your new tank. Any ideas on what you plan to stock it with?
