Just installed another filter into my 48G and I was working at the back of the tank then I saw it . . . . . I perfectly dried L262 . . . . . I estimate it has been out of the water for a day.

I am soooo gutted, was such a pretty and unusual pleco, I have a large piece of wood that rest on the back corner and sits 1“ from the water surface, can only think it has raced up the wood and came out of the water.

Aw that has really saddend me :scry:

R.I.P my L262

That sure stinks, a similar thing happened to me when I was cleaning my tank about a year ago. We had the lid open and my bushynosed pleco at the time launched himself out of the tank......only to become a snack for my overly excited dog. I was devastated. I can relate, sorry for your loss :(

So sorry. I honestly have never been that attached to a fish, but then I'm new to this. Perhaps I will be some day. Poor little guy though. I didn't realize many aquarium fish made a habit of jumping out.

I know how you feel I lost an albino rainbow shark while i was cleaning the tank he jumped out and i didn't notice. I found him like ten min later on the floor behind the tank stand caught up in the cords for the filter and heater. I felt so guilty but it was an accident it happens to the best of us. It stinks and I am sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss :(

Always such a horrible way to lose a fish. I found a poor dried up rummynose on my floor last week as my lid has a tiny gap on one corner and he must have launched himself out of there. Still gutted about it.

Non-fish people have a hard time understanding why my pleco is my favourite. They have a funny way of getting themselves into your heart! Sorry about your pleco - mine died a month ago too.

sorry about your loss. I can still remember finding my red belly newt all shriveled up under a box in my bedroom 25 years ago and feeling the same way you do.
