I did a stupid thing today. I was getting a replacement guppy today and I generally float my fish in the tank by the door because I have to make multiple trips in the house to get the kids in. I forgot I had ich there and I just thought about how it was hot so I moved it. I had to set up qt because I saw it looked like it had fungus.
Well instead of leaving it out i floated in another tank. Now I may have given myself more ich. I feel so bad. (and i know qt should have been out already but I guess I was having an off today.

If all you did was move the bag from one tank to another, I don't think much ich stuck to the outside of the bag, but then again, I'm no microbiologist. It's also my understanding that even in healthy tanks, there's always a small amount of ich in there, it's just that healthy fish's immune system is able to keep it at bay.

I really hope so. It seems like I did everything wrong today.
Guppy in qt being treated for fungus. We have such bad luck with guppies....different stores too. Grrrrr.

Also, if you were actively treating that tank for ich, the medication kills the ich when it's in the water, but not when it's in the fish. That's why it takes so long to cure, because the ich spends most of its time in the fish, and a small amount of time in the water. So it's likely there was a very small amount of live ich actually floating around in the water.
