Does anyone here also have ponds with plants over a meter deep?
How do you lower your waterlilies down to the depths assuming you overwinter
them in a garage or so?

Sink them down with river rocks or other pond safe stones on top of their pot.

they should sink on their own, but rocks ontop will do as stated above. we put ours on the bottom of the pond for the winter (3.5' deep) and put them back in the shallow part of the pond in the spring. they have came back every year and we have some good freezes here in Canada.

Mine are in ports with gravel and sink like rocks, but that is the (misunderstood) problem.

I cannot just drop them into the pond because they would likely tip over and cause a mess, but
I have to find a way to gradually lower and raise them somehow. something like strong nylon string
attached to the pots maybe?

How deep is your pond? I can just reach down with my arm holding the pot in my hand to get it to the bottom on mine.

a meter and 15 cm, so the reaching down will not work for me.
