Hello all,

I am having black hair algae issues in my 8ish gallon fluval ebi tank.
12+ x blue pearl shrimp
1 x bamboo shrimp
7 x oto cats
Eheim 2213
AquaClear 20
Fluval 25 watt

I feed the oto cats zucchini once a month and leave in the tank for 2 days. During these two days I only feed the shrimps once. The rest of the month I feed the shrimps everynight. I feed the oto cats every other day, two mini algae wafers. Rarely leave any food uneaten and i have an army of pond snails that i cull by feed them to my assassin snails in another tank.
Plants are mix of slow and fast growers.
Lesser duckweed
Dwarf hairgrass
Dwarf uraguayan sword
Amazon sword
Some stem plants . I dose excel every day, 0.8ml in an attempt to kill the black hair algae but i dont dare over dose or do that insane treatment of hydrogen peroxide I ve seen on the web!!! I am planning on getting another fluval 25 watt in an attempt to encourage growth from the plants so they can use up excess nutrients that the black hair is feeding off.
Pls let me know if this might work or if you have any other ideas.
