Pike are similar. In the same 'style' of fish you have things like gar and bichirs.

I dont know about the legality aspect, but i do know they are one of the most detrimental invasive species in North America. I wouldnt reccomend getting one. They get quite large from what i understand.
Also, if you do happen to get one, even if it dies, do not flush it.

o yeah well if they do then alot of very strange and different specied come from china. Like the pest the goby. The bay that i live near is infested with them and they are taking over. They may not be big but they eat all of the eggs. lol and they came from china aswell.

They come from India and SE Asia, drum. When I lived in N. California, there was a huge flap about snakeheads in the Sacramento River. As cold and polluted as it is makes snakeheads one of the toughest fish around. And that, folks is why they are illegal to sell or posess in the United States.

Yeah i saw the teeth that they have and it sorta scared me. lol
Well if i got anything like that then i would get a little school of phiranas. Ok well with phiranas (or however you spell it) what size of tankwould you need??? Like say a red belly???

Red bellied Piranhas get very large, and need schools. I would say 300 with amazing filtration, but that could be a lowball.

HOLLY CRAP!!!!!!!! I knew that they got big but i didn't think that they would need to be in a tank that big. lol
Yeah scratch that off of my list.

ive heard of people keeping them in 55 gallons in a school of 3-5, which i think isnt enough. depends how many you get, they have to come in schools so its going to have to be a large tank.

I've read in old books about natives being able to chop of two or three steaks off a snakehead before it sees fit to die.
