Hi, i recently bought a 5 gallon tank (disappointed...the bigger tanks were out of my budget  )from my local petstore and it came with pretty much everything i needed to start with...i think....It came with a clipon filter, heating rod, gravel, and 3 artificial plants. So far i've set the tank and the water has been runnin now for 2 days. Now this is the tough part, which fishies should i get first? I took a look at the oto and some blind cave fish(dont rember the name, i'll get back to it) both of them look sooo cute, but are the tough, and will they last? All suggestions are appreciated thanks a bunch!

It depends on what you are lookign for in your fish. Tells us that I am sure we will be able to help better.
Both species you mention are suitable for your tank and not to hard to care for.

lol scratch that idea about the blind catfish i was talking about..i found out it grows to be 3 feet and will eat most other fishies. Well, im lookin for a fairly small school of community fish that are not territorial and are peaceful. I saw some cute litte neon tetra's on sale(but they didnt look very active in the tank) so im not really sure if they are good to start with them, and maybe they maybe already stressed.? Any recommendations on peaceful schooling fish?

Ok LOL
I thought you meant blind cave tetra when you said blind cave fish. Blind catfish is another story and as you discovered not suitaböe for your tank.
There are to many small peaceful schooling fish to do them justice but some are neon and the by me prefered cardinal tetra, congo tetra ( a little bigger), kerri tetra, different types of pen tetras, cherry barbs and platy.
The last is the hardiest fish of them all.
