Got some asparagus spears in the fridge, would my plecos appreciate one as a treat? I know asparagus has an unusual chemical in it (makes you pee smell funny) and I wasn't sure if this would be harmful to the tank?

Plecos feasting would be:
Common plec
L262
Gibby plec (number and scientific name is in my profile)

Wanted some opinions before I give it a bash, thanks :22:

I've fed it to BN pleco's before, no problems, but normally I use canned green beans. If your pleco's eat fresh or canned veggies they should go for the asparagus.

Same!! They devour the stuff, happy to chow down even when all the lights are on.

Mine get cukes and zucchini slices. Raw. I like to drop in something I can easily remove.

I love fresh asparagus!

Cukes?? British translation please :hmm3grin2orange: mines love zuccinni and cucumber, I fancy trying cabage for them. I always just stick a chunk onto a fork, with some thread on the fork so I can easily pull it out without getting wet.
