My 2 bettas.

Ok well i have 2 bettas. 1 male and 1 female (im sure i have posted enough that you know this by know) [sorry about all of the posts] and well i have them in the breeding tank (5g) and well the female is ready to breed (showing all symptoms) and the male has a very beautiful bubble nest made. Well the male wont let the female look at it or even get near it. My question is:....Does the male want the nest to look perfecr before letting the female look at it or is he just being mean???? Like when he chases her off he goes right back to the nest and starts working on it. I have a stryofoam cup cut in half in the water for the nest to be made (just like the pages i read about breeding bettas told me to) and well i don't know what i am doing wrong. THey have been in there since about 11:00 a.m. and right now it is 4:45. I know that it can take a while for them to spawn but i need some help and some more advice.
