:scry:We only have the one vehicle, so I really hope that the damage isn't too bad. Thankfully he wasn't hurt at all. The deer apparently ran right into the passenger side of the car. It's dead. Now, I'm an animal lover...but I have to admit I'm VERY glad that stupid deer is dead! We SO don't need this right now. :(

I almost ran into a baby deer a few weeks ago. thankfully it ran side by side with my car and not infront or into the side of it. I almost cried!
I'm sorry it hit yours, but glad your husband is okay!

I swear if they found a way to put headlights and a horn on a bullet hunters would have it made... I swear the deer would jump INFRONT of the bullet.

Sadly after a cars in an accident, it'll never be the same :(

My grandpas old Ford F250 has killed many deer, has a huge brush guard and only had to get something fixed once. Sorry bout that, I love deer, well rather hunting them and eating them kinda love.

Ya deer are out and all over now too. They are starting to have their fawns (babies) as I saw 3 today cross right in front of me on my street. They were no higher than my waste and I am about 5 foot 7 inches. What really sucks is when you almost hit one on a motorcycle, that scares the hell outta ya.

AGREED!

The guy I bought my truck from said "this thing has been through 2 deer, a coyote, 2 cats, a few skunks, and 2 squirrels i had to try REALLY hard to get."

I almost hit a deer once. I slammed on my brakes, and i was a few inches from him, and he STILL didnt move. I honked, nothing. So i slowly nudged him, and he bolted of into the woods.....stupid deer.

That's when you take the .308 out from behind the seat and let the deer have it.

I do have a gun rack, and i was coming back from hunting, except it was a .22, and it was in the bed of the truck.....

Yeah, i could go for the texas head shot, or see if i can get perfect placement on the vitials. I was using some nice hollow points too (thatl teach those rabbits).

Oh, and im not sure it was deer season...plus the fact i didnt have a tag....

Two hunters were dragging their dead deer back to their car. Another hunter approached pulling his along too.

"Hey, I don't want to tell you how to do something ... but I can tell you that it's much easier if you drag the deer in the other direction. Then the antlers won't dig into the ground."

After the third hunter left, the two decided to try it.

A little while later one hunter said to the other, "You know, that guy was right. This is a lot easier!"

"Yeah, but we're getting farther from the truck," the other added.

Lol, thats funny. I hunt deer as much as possible along with all other game that is in season, my old .22 and shotty have taken many squirrels. That shotty I have, which is a Remington 870 Express Mag is my first gun and is still my favorite, killed more deer than I can count, 6 turkeys, and uncountable amount of small game and coons. For rifles I used to use my .270 but I recently got a 7mm-08 and I tell you something about that little gun, nothing shoots like it, so fast and so accurate it is hard to believe and it packs a punch with a 150 grain bullet.

We have quite a few deer out here. There will usually be 2-3 dead deer on the highway on my first run in the morning when I'm at work. Thankfully, I haven't hit any yet. But I have hit quite a few birds with my bus, one cat and a turtle (please, don't ask about the turtle, it was on the road right after a curve and I couldn't avoid it).

Glad to hear no one got hurt though Sarah.

As far as hunting goes, not my cup of tea. Guess I'll leave that up to you guys. But if you want to send me some of the meat, I'll give you my address ... lol!

you have to see the highways here. there is so much roadkill that its impossible to count. the sad thing is that most of it are domestic pets (cats, dogs, etc) others are toads (i accidentally nailed one once), raccoons, and fox.

Dude. hope evrythings okay.

Thanks Ed. Thankfully my hubby is fine. The passenger door is quite dented, as is the front fender, but the frame seems to be fine and nothing other than body damage.
It's our only car and we can't afford to get another right now, so thankfully it seems ok. The car already has 260,000 kms on it, so we'd be looking at getting another car in the next couple of years anyway, but we just aren't at that point yet.
Thanks so much for everyone's concern.
