My swordtail has been pregnant for what seems like forever. I bought one of those fake bonsai trees, but hated it... so ended up taking the "branches" off and letting them float upside down..... just a minute ago I noticed one being moved a lot by the current and when I tried to move it to a corner a teeny tiny little baby came with it!! I've been looking all over for more of them, but have found only one other, also in one of those floating branches. My sharks seem unusually calm, not looking everywhere for food like normal... maybe its cause their bellies are full of fry :) I'm hoping at least one of the little guys makes it....
eidt - are they as likely to get eaten if I put them in my 20 gallon with the cories and pleco. I'm moving the pleco tonight actually, so... it would be the fry and cories. Then the cories move in a week or so....
does everything eat fry?

I THINK that you'd be safe with the cories and pleco...but I can't be completely certain.

Fry are very fast and if given lots of hiding places you'd be surprised what they can hide from and survive. but if you really want them to live keep them alone & feed them boiled eggs, baby shrimp & plankton grind it up to a powder form so they can eat it to help them grow faster. Not all 3 together either one or the other...lol
They would be fine with the corys very likely.

I found a third!! He was hiding near the bottom in a bushy plant..... catching these little guys to move them should be fun! I've been trying to take some pics but they are so small.....wonder if there are more hiding.
I'll bet there are more. I thought for over a month that I had 16 swordtail fry. There were 18. :ssuprised:

they are so cute.... this is the first time I've had fry. I feel torn... part of me wants to put the pleco and cories in the 55 and the fry in the 20. The other part of me sees this idea, three months down the road, ending in me having 20 tanks for swordtails..... my lfs said they will only take fry if they have the space.
