Ok, my spanish class in school is wanting to take a trip to Costa Rica. It is like 2,000$ each for everything including trip, meals, hotel, and tour for 8 days. Me and like 3 others wanna find a few ways to make money, we have until like July of next year to do it. Please give me a few idea we can use.

1 idea is a car wash. but im sure you have thought of that one. otherwise you could try buying and selling on ebay or maybe making things in your free time that you could sell. such as fishtank stands.

Oh you and your friends can also get together and do yard work or odds and ends for people. put up some flyers at some local stores for it maybe?
The key to a really successful fund raiser is to do something different. Bake sales, yard sales, etc. will all do well, but won't do REALLY well. Trust me, I know. I managed at an Easter Seals for a while.
They have these really cool 3d plastic drinking cups that I have sold, different teams and sports, they did REALLY well.
It all also depends on what you and your group can do. For example, you could offer to give someone's landscaping a make-over for a certain fee. Edging, weeding, dead heading flowers, etc. If you have woodworking skills, bookcases custom finished would be cool. Also, depending on your area, you could give a one or two night seminar on something like...oh, I don't know...fish keeping? Charge $10 a head and go to town with overheads, handouts, etc.
Just some thoughts.

I have done tanks at school and such. I may try to do aquariums set-ups. We are going to do a car wash for sure and that will help but not do much. Probably do a yard sale as well. I really want to go on this trip so I am going to do all I can. I am going to get names and numbers of are group tomorrow so we can get a hold of each other better and such. Man it will be awesome if it works out!!

High intrest bank account?
We always raise money for drumline. We just made ~$1500 for bass drum and quad stands. We did a carwash that was good for about 500. The trick to doing a carwash, is to print out a BUNCH of tickets, and sell them for ~5-10 dollars a peice, so if they dont go to get their carwash, you still get the money.

My first large tank, a glass 200 gallon, was bought and equipt with money I made mowing lawns when I was your age, Kuhli. All in all was about 2500. Took me two months of lawn mowing to earn it.

Over here in Australia, we have what are called Lamington drives (which is a cake coated in chocalate and coconut), with a lamington drive you take orders and sell either half a dozen or whatever for a profit.
Here is the recipe

If they are uncommon over there, you could do a batch of small ones as a test, and give samples as you take orders, they are very nice, and I'm sure you would get orders, especially if it is something uncommon in your area.
Here is a pic of one

The easiest and safest way to come up with that kind of money is to get yourself a part time job somewhere and save your earnings. Not only will you get the money you need (plus extra spending money), you'll also have some work experience to help you get a better job when you're looking for a full time job.

I have to do that to pay for my gas and insurance. I will keep a little money out of that but I need to find another way also.

If you dont have a part time job, get one. Then start collecting bottles and cans so you can get the recycling money. Then start mowing lawns, cleaning pools, pulling weeds etc, for cash. Then start breeding fish so you can exchange for store credit and the fish hobby will start to pay for itself so you have more money for the trip. Also, take trips to the local goodwill and salvation army and lok for stuff you could refurbish and sell on ebay for a profit. I know a guy who bought a boombox at the SA for 5 bucks, fixed it, and sold it for 700 dollars.

I got a part time job, it has to pay for insurance, gas, fish food, and dog food. I am thinking car wash, mowing, and my Spanish teacher said I could help her husband a little on my free time with AC and Heating.
Very interesting, Crack! Never heard of them.
