hello all! i currently have a 2-yr old 35 gallon freshwater with 2 powder blue gouramis, 2 bleeding heart tetras, 3 corys, an angelfish, and an upside down catfish. i just bought a 55 gallon and hope to transfer them soon! the biggest issues i've had with my current tank are stabilizing the pH and too much algae! the water coming out of my faucet reads over 8.5! i've had to buy LOTS of conditioner. thanks to your forum, i'm learning new ways to counteract that problem. the tank is currently in the den and gets too much sunlight. i'm setting up the 55 gal in the living room where it stays cool and dark most of the day. i've always had a fish tank set up, but i'm still learning a lot. thanks for all of the valuable information!

Howdy and welcome to the forum! You're on the verge of multiple tank syndrome :)

In the 55, I'd up your bleeding heart tetras to a proper school. You could safely have a dozen of them, adding them not all at once of course. Two or three more very other week

i had about 6 bleeding hearts in the 35 gal and the biggest one killed four of them! he was very aggressive and killed anything i introduced. it wasnt until i added the angel did he chill out! the two bleeding hearts are the only ones left from my original set up. i can't wait to add more!

Welcome to the forum!! I agree with dave, plus you will be able to up the numbers of your corys aswell, they prefer larger numbers aswell.
