Wait, do you have a glass top? If not, I would probably superglue some ply wood or a wood block to the ends of th fixture.

i never bothered with a glass top. i have 2 lights on it so they take up alot of the room. i guess i'll try taping a fat object to the sides to hold them

What happens if the tape or glue let go? and it falls in the tank, fried fish and perhaps a fried Cocoa.

Get some angle brackets and check if srewing them on the end with small sheet metal screws will not hit any wires inside, if it is safe, scew the brackets on.

No worries Cocoa:thumb:

I reckon your game running lights without glass under them anyways, theres a lot of evaperation in the summertime and condensation in the winter time.

in my house i dont get it that bad. with my old 33g i had a glass top for the light and i tripped and smashy smashy. i just gave up and had the light by itself with no issue. to not risk my fishes lives i'll get a glass top. it will be hard since some stores dont have my tanks companys brand but i'll look

Lay two thin boards across the top on both sides and sit the light on top.

But really, 2- 24 " glass tops would work.

Or, get the feet that go to those lights and just hook them on.

I have plexi glass strips going across the top of my open tanks to hold the light or I hang it from the ceiling.

plexi-glass works very well and with a little effort can be cut and glued.
Weld on 4 is made for Acrylics and is recamended for DIY tanks.
Plexi-glass can also be bent with a heat gun clamps and a form.
I made tops for 2 of my tanks and plane to make my own tank.
