I just purchased 2 gold weather loaches a few weeks ago and I love them! I loach has small white flecks on its fins. I am wondering if it's ich and what I should do.

I have a 20+ gallon tank with just the 2 loaches. I did have two gold fish in there: 1 pearlscale and 1 black moor. Both died. I have marine black sand substrate, driftwood and a pot. Took all other decor out. Fish are eating. One just lies around other swims around the tank.

I had the tropical fish in the tank for about 5 months then moved them to larger tank. Change substrate from gravel to sand. Saved original water.

In an established tank that has been fully cycled with a zero reading of ammonia you have a good chance of beating the ich. You could use aquarium salt and elevated temps to fight the ich. Being as these are cool water fish I'm not sure what the appropriate temp would be but I'm certain other members would. I personally use quick cure to fight ich and have had 100% success using it even witb loach species. If you choose to use quick cure then remove any carbon from filter before starting treatment. Also run treatment for a week after all signs of ich disapear. After that do a thourough gravel vac followed by a 50% water change. Add carbon to filter to remove meds.
