My Jag fry are free swimming now so i thought i would
do a pic diary on how they reached this stage.
I aquired a breeding pair of Jags and less than 48 hrs later
they had spawned, here's a pic of the spawn and mom guarding the eggs.

Two days later they moved the eggs to this cave and you can see the first
of the wrigglers appear, mom and dad keep a close eye on things.

The parents kept the wrigglers in the cave for 3 days untill the last fry had
found his fins, here they are free swimming.

What are you feeding the youngsters? Their bellies look full. Nice shots as well. Perfect evidence why Cichlids are so popular.

Baby brine shrimp, then move them on to crushed flake and tetra min.
The parents feed them as well by crushing up food and stitting it out for them.

well what kind of cichlids are you thinking of? I have convicts and well i think them minimum size tank for any cichlids would be at least 20 gallons. And as for tank mates, cichlids are a agressive fish, especially when they have fry in the tank, they will sometimes kill all the other fish, I think some barbs are ok, and there are other kinds but i totally forget what they are right now, but they have to be roughly the same size of bigger then the cichlids. Also plecos should be ok too as long as they are big enough
