my friend is gonna give me a deal an a 75 gallon, 100 dollars with a stand filter heater and some supplies. i figured id add to my collection and maybe do a green terror tank with it.

i was thinking the green terror with a jaguar cat and maybe 1-2 other fish but only if there is room. any suggestions? should i stick with just the GT and Liosomadoras Oncinus (Jaguar cat) or could i throw maybe a severum in there or something? i have a 65 gallon with 3 3.5-4.5 inch severums. 2 green 1 gold. i was considering putting the gold in with the GT and the cat. just wondering what kind of input you guys had on this.

My gt and other cichlids always stay out of my trinidad plecos way. They don't mess with him at all. I would think your catfish would be okay, but they don't have the armour that a pleco has. So keep a close eye on him.

thanks for the reply. he's a pretty feisty guy, so i think he'll be able to hold his own at least until the other 2 fish get full size. my 2 green sevs and my gold sev(the one to be housed in the 75) in my 65 gallon dont even pay attention to him anymore.

ALSO; i had thought about putting my green severum pair in the 75 gallon with the green terror and the jaguar cat. should i leave the pair of greens in my 65? they would be with a small female jaguar cat and a rainbow shark in my 65, as opposed to a green terror and a large male jaguar cat in the 75. which would be a more ideal environment for them to be in?

I have 3 big cichlids in a 125 gallon tank and that seems like barely enough room for them. Usually they stay evenly spread out. Sometimes they will all hang out, and sometimes they get mad and fight.

Luckily my JD is the shyist fish on the planet and hangs in a cave all day. When he decides to come out though he will nip the other ones to get out of his way. The GT runs away from him but my Nicaragua wont back down.

Nicaragua are supposed to be low on the aggressive side but not mine. The same could be said about severums, just depends on the fish's personality.

The tank stays pretty clean too, I have 2 emperor 400's and a magnum canister filter. I'm not sure how well a 75 gallon tank would hold up with 3 big guys in it.

good points. The greens are about 3 inches at the moment, and growing fast. so for the sake of not overstocking i believe i will go with the green terror/gold sev setup that i had originally planned. i want the fish to be comfortable, especially the severums. i raised those guys 3/4 of an inch so im attached to them by now. thank you for your input, you've definitely swayed my opinion.

another idea im wanting to toss out there; how about the gold severum, the green terror, and BOTH of my jaguar cats. my reasoning behind it being that they are a pair and id feel bad splitting them up:( my female is much smaller than my male, though they are the same age. i suppose that's normal.

I don't know much about them but would keep them together if they are used to each other.

haha one last question for you man. would a common pleco be too much with bio-load im already talking about? (gold severum, green terrror, 2 jaguar cats)
