Hiya! last time I worked out the capacity of my aquarium it was mostly guesswork. I concluded that it was about 120 litres (sorry I don't know gallons) which may well be wrong... the tank itself is 18" deep, 60" long and 12" wide. I'm sure there is a simple formula for working out how many litres of water these dimensions hold but duh... I don't know it. the reason I ask is the plant food and water treatments I have give their measurements in proportion to the volume of water held in litres and I would like to be sure I am not using too much or too little. I would appreciate it if someone could explain this formula to me so I can stop going on guesswork... sorry if I sound a bit simple here!

I suck at math, so I don't know the formula (I think I missed that day of school), anyway, there are many calculators online, I suggest you give google a try. I'd post some links, but they do go to other forums and I don't know what the official policy on that is.

Anyway, what I can tell you is that your tank 60x12x18 measures out to be 56.1 US gallons.

Cheers 4 that!!! I think I could increase the plant food/water treatment safely now.
