I moved your thread here since this really isn't an Introduction but needing help question so you can get better responses.

You need to let us know what size tank your flower horn is in, was the tank cycled, how long you've had him and how long he's been faded out. Fish "fade" when stressed out so I can only guess without the above information supplied so please let us know more information.
