I havent got any gravel or anything in the bottom yet. I dont want gravel as it is sooooo hard to clean. I will be getting sand though eventually. I have also got them a new cave. it looks really cool because it sticks up out of the water:-)

Hope you enjoy (sorry about the quality of the pictures. I took them off my phone)

I hope the attachments work:S

I'd recommend some fish. Definitely fish. :19:

Seriously though, all depends on what kind of tank you are looking for. There are thousands of options.

AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK So i post up about my new tank. I was talking to my GF online and then i said ill be back soon and that i need to do a quick waterchange on my tank. I stood up and moved over to my tank (slosh slosh) hmm wet carpet... look at table... hmm legs are wet... look at tank... there seems to be more water than usual evaporated.... MY TANKS F'King leaking!!!!!!!!!!

Syphon out the water transfer the fish to the turtle tank as its the only other tank that i can put them in (because the turtle in the other tank is too big to put in the really small tank)

So i take everything out of my new big tank. rip off the old silicone and reseal it all... go to my LFS and get white sand undergravel filters new airpump (new airpump as i n00bishly set my other one which belongs to my father below the waterlevel on the floor without realising that the water would siphone back into the unit which caused it to go ZAP!).... boy it really isnt my week is it...

So today after the silicone has been left to dry out I install the new bits and get everything sorted... (plus i got a nice chunk of corral to whack in there)
FILL HER UP :-)

Waiting for cycle I realise theres water starting to drip...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH

tanks still leaking... so i have to take everything out again... remove ALL the silicone and redo the whole tank.. ill get dad to help as he built the tank in the first place.
I will keep you posted.

I would be careful with the fish in that turtle tank. Numerous problems could arise.
*How's the PH in the turtle tank?
*How often do you clean it? Is it fully cycled?
*Different types of bacteria can form in the turtle tank.
*Will the turtle bother the fish? What kind of turtle is it?
*What is the water temp.?
It really sucks this is happening to you. I would be going as fast as I can too. (I am sure you are) I am assuming you bought the tank used?

the tank for my fish or the turtle?
My dad built the tank i use for my fish.. i have removed the turtle from the tank. its a red eared slider... so it was remove the turtle or the turtle removes the fish...
Temps 26 degrees celcius.
havent checked the pH or any of the other stuff. Like you said going as fast as possible. Im pulling my fish tank completely apart tomorrow after work and redoing the whole thing. then ill fill it again, then ill empty it after confirming it has no more leaks, put everything back in, cycle it for a while let the water get up to temp let the filters clear and what not then put the fish back in....

OOO i have a Red earred slider too. he is only like 5 months old though, like 2.5 inches long.
I am sorry you have to cycle your tank again that is going to be a pain. Probably water changes almost every day and what not.
Good luck man!

cheers dude. year the slider i 'temporaraly kicked out of home' is only about 3 or 4 inches. and sadly thats about all he/she will get to as when it was smaller my mum put it in with the bigger ones and it got a little munched on... he/she is over a year probably closer to 2 years old now

Well after a very anxious wait I have finally got pics of a clear 250L tank - My new aquarium.

Things that are different from this tank and my last:
Glass is thicker - Stronger
I have the white sand/gravel
I have my undergravel filter going :-)
I have a lump of coral for the fish to hide in. There is one (can be seen if you look closely in one of the pics) who seems to have made one little cave in the coral his/her home, He/She seems to chase most of the other fish out of there.
I now have a Fluval 305 filter. I am still using my old filter aswell though.
I am not running my powerhead off the side of the tank anymore. it is now running off the top of one of the Under gravel filter towers :)

Here are the pics. I hope you enjoy them. Im so thrilled with my new aquarium:-)

This one is of the Demasoni that seems to have made this his/her home. You can only just see the end of his/her head.

Thanks!
I was thinking i might need more coral in there. It has worked wonders for my pH. It currently (last time i checked was a couple of days ago) sitting at 8.0. Ideally it should be 8.2. does the .2 matter too much? Id rather not use chemicals to achieve the desired pH aolthough i do have some proper pH 8.2.

Cheers

.2 is nothing. in 95% of the cases playing with the PH does more harm than leaving it at what it is

S13DWS

So leaving it at 8.0 is ok to do then?

And the other question i do have is will the pH slowly or slightly decline due to water changes?
Its at 8.0 since i put the coral in the aquarium but i was wondering what it is in the coral that make the pH change and how long it will last for.

8 is fine, and it might slowly decline, but its such a slow decline the fish will get used to it, no harm
