Oscar Help

Just started thinking today I kind of want to start a tank and have a Wet Pet, I thought to myself an Oscar would be perfect. I would like to start it off very small but I was wondering about what size do they get and how large of a tank would I need. Would a 40 breeder be a decent size for a Oscar?? I already have a 40 Breeder cycled and ready whenever I need to use it but I mainly need to know of this size will work if not I am willing to go higher also.

That tank will be fine for 6-8months, after that you should be looking into a tank of around 75 gallons. Oscars can hit 12"+ and once it gets 8-9" that 40G breeder is going to be looking pretty small. You will also need heavy filtration preferably a canister/HOB combo. The HOB would work great for mechanical filtration and the canister would be good for biological filtration.
