Hi!

I joined here after recognizing a few usernames with the hope that I could reconnect with a few friends I met on another fish forum (that sadly seems to be dying a slow and painful death).

Anyway, I'm Nik, and I recently fell off the wagon... the MTS wagon, that is. At one time not too terribly long ago, I had as many as 14 (or so) tanks running... but got control of my Multiple Tank Syndrome and got it down to a more manageable two tanks (which I am sorry to say were sadly neglected).

My love for fish has resurfaced and I still only have two tanks running... but I'm completely redoing both of them and spending far too much money in the process. thumbs2:

My current tanks:
29g flat back hex (the "dumpster tank" for those who know me)
Currently in the process of turning this one into a high tech planted tank. I'm a huge dummy when it comes to plants, so it's been interesting, to say the least!

Stock is currently:
One pair (m/f) of Betta albimarginata
4 Corydoras leucomelas
1 Corydoras panda
I currently have three more C. panda, one C. habrosus, and two Checker barbs in quarantine.

29g African mbuna tank (soon to be a 40g breeder)
2 (1m/1f) Pseudotropheus saulosi
3 (2m/1f) Cynotilapia afra Galileya Reef (white top hara)

Anyway, in case you couldn't tell, my posts tend to be a bit wordy. (blush) Looking forward to reconnecting with some old friends and making some new ones!

Ahh. Hello, then ^^ I'm one of the bigger Betta splendens addicts here at the AC

^_^;;; I admit I have crossed the line between "hobby" and "addiction" where Siamese fighters are concerned. Though I also admit I don't know everything

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

I'm a bit of a Betta addict myself. In the past, I had around 6-7 male 5.5 gallon tanks set up and a large female sorority (though I now believe keeping females singly as well is better). I discovered aquabid and nearly bankrupted myself importing Bettas from Thailand, lol! The one in my avatar was my favorite. RIP Zephyrus....

Welcome! I am sure that you will once again jump onto the MTS bandwaggon and ride it off into the pit of your financial doom :hmm3grin2orange:

Glad you decided to join this neck of the woods!

LOL, true story!

I'm still on the lookout for a WIDE 4' long tank to fit in the stand my dad made for my 55g... the skinny 55 looked terrible on it! The second stand (for the other 55g has been turned into a meat cutting stand out in the garage for the dogs (they're raw fed).
