Red Eco-Complete

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Red Eco-Complete. I'm contemplating using it in my new 55. My other choice would be sand which I don't have any experience with either.

Is the Red Eco-Complete a bright red or more of a brownish red? Saw a couple pictures online, but sometimes its just so difficult to tell.

I've never used it, but I've seen it in the stores and what I have seen has been a dark, brownish red color.

I use Black Flourite, and I really like it, my plants seem to like it too. I don't have any experience with Eco-Complete though. They make a Red Flourite (http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/FlouriteRed.html) too.
