A few fish species and the sizes they obtain.
Oscar - 14 inches
Bala shark - 28 inches+
South Am. Red Tail catfish - males 39 inches or more, females close to five feet.
Pacu - Four feet
Tinfoil barb - 16 inches
Tiger shovelnose - 39 inches to five feet, depending on care.
Iridescent shark - four feet
Common pleco - 20 to 24 inches, depending on the species
Clown loach - 12 inches
Clown knifefish - three to four feet
Peacock eel - four feet
Ropefish - three feet
Columbian shark - three feet
Paroon shark - five feet
Dovii cichlids - three feet
Obviously, massive containers and powerful filtration is needed to keep any of these species, as a fair number are schooling fish (the barb, balas, pacu, loach, Columbian and iridescent sharks).
All I can think of off the top of my head. Perhaps someone could add more.
