set up my 75 and everything is great, but i'm going to need a lot more rock. i only have a few on the bottom and not nearly enough. as you know, rocks can be very expensive.

but there is a limitless supply of limestone all around my house, more than i can even explain. so i could have anything i wanted out there. i know limestone is good for pH also which is a plus since i have african cichlids. is it safe to just thoroughly rinse/clean these rocks and then insert them? i've checked them out they are extremely clean rocks. also a few years ago i put a couple in when i had bala sharks, tiger barbs, giant danios, etc. for a while and they did fine.

here's some i collected

i cant think of any reason not to use limestone in an african tank. i would say wash very well and try to sanitize them some how.

All I ever do for rocks is give them a good scrub under warm water and if they are clean enough they go straight into the tank.
The limestone will raise the ph but for Africans they will be good.thumbs2:

I did that when I had an African tank. Worked very well for me.
