Hello all

Im new to all this but am after advice.

I have recently purchased a 35ltr BiOrb and have added three Mountain Minnows. To add some interest I added some Bogwood which discoloured the water (turned green!) I removed it and have soaked it in boiling water for the last 48 hours. All i keep getting is tea coloured water. If i re-introduce the wood will it continue to discolour? I dont want to harm my minnows but i read the pH levels can get high. Any advice?

Green is a bit unusuall, it usually turn brown. The miss coloration is likely not harmful for the fish (store bought right) and will vanish over time. So if you can stand it, it isn't really a problem.

you mean that my water will eventually clear after a few water changes?

Yes. It will eventually clear up but how long it will take before it does is another question. It could be a few weeks and it could be a year. A couple of months being the most common timeframe for it to clear.

They like a lot of small froozen food such as daphnia.
