I hope Aeonflame sees this and decides to leave his tropical paradise behind and come visit Michigan. Look, we've got snow! And clouds! Everything's the same color. How much fun is that?

And apparently its too mushy for sledding because the neighbor kid came over and only went down the drive once.... and had to help the sled along.

Tell the neighbor kid to come a little North to Saskatoon. At -38C, our snow is far from sticky, really good for sledding :hmm3grin2orange:

oh oh. Just heard a blizzard is due within 48 hours.

we're getting rain down here. It's 50F right now. It's going to drop below freezing and keep snowing overnight, with 40 mph wind gusts... that's going to be messy.

Snow of "historic proportions" is what Maryland, NY and NJ got last year. Imagine what a mess snow is to move in crowded cities. Our first snowfall last year was 14" in one night and no one even blinked. We are so prepared for snow removal here that it's really more of a nuisance than a hinderous.
Rain turning to ice with snow on top is dangerous and that's the stuff I don't like.
TV is blasting blizzard warnings about every 15 minutes here but it's more to the East of me.

It sure changes when the temps drop for 7 months.:hmm3grin2orange:
We are suppose to get a few inches compared to South of here. They are getting hammered.

Yeah we get the rain/ice/snow/stupid people combination out here. But then 12 to 14 inches predicted is record breaking.
Last night as the prediction rolled in, and I'm quietly grinning ear to ear... the bf tells me that "if we were up to our necks in flood water, you'd find something good to say about it" to which I cheerfully said "At least we wouldn't be dead!" :hmm3grin2orange:

Two days later and still snowing! I spent 40 minutes cleaning my car off yesterday and scrapping the ice off the windows which was one solid sheet.
This morning my car is sitting there again.......buried!!!!!!!!
These people here are a trip. I head for the door with the broom and 10 of them all yell....."will you clean my car off, too." What can ya say, NO? I mean, ya gotta help whoever needs it but not too sure I will live thru it myself. LOL

We got buried last night.
They only called for a few inched but that multipiled and multiplied fast.
Thank God for snow blowers,a quad with a plow and two kids with shovels.:hmm3grin2orange:

Hobbs you live in Michigan.....
If there are people near you that ask you to clean off their car because they are too lazy or frugal to invest in an ice scraper and broom then they should stay home! If they can't figure out how to deal with snow and ice on a car, I'd not trust them to deal with it on the road!
Anyway... this morning my alarm clock was the evergreen tree/shrubbery outside the kitchen window falling over from the ice and super wet snow weight. Thing had to be about 10 ft tall or so..... (Honestly though I'm not super sad since I didn't care to look out the kitchen window right into a tree!)
And the generator is running.... woo for having super hooked into the gasline generator! :shappy:

Actually, I live in a 130 apartment building with nearly all seniors or handicapped folks. As long as I can walk, I will try to help those who can't get around as well as I do. They all go grocery shopping, have doctors appointments and it ticks me off the managers here don't hire someone to keep these cars cleaned off. It's a bit more difficult to clean a foot of snow off their cars than drive down the road.
I don't mind helping them out. I just like to sound like I'm tough but I'm really a softie.

Ok I give a pass to elderly and disabled.... though why in your neighborhood they didn't plan and put in nice carports at the least is beyond me! Or how about a bus or van for your residence?

We were supposed to get a bunch of snow...we got maybe two inches...then it rained and washed it away. I'm sure it'll snow this weekend when I want to be out and about...as opposed to a week day when I could have a snow day off from work.

Well apparently all the ice from the rain and melty snow mix that took out the tree.... has taken out the power for the next "2-3 days" per the power co. :scry:
I may have some photos later...
