This is kind of old news but I don't know if anyone ever posted it here so I thought some of you may be interested to see. This is a fire I worked last September, the owners of this tropical fish store set it on fire and made it look like peta or somebody did it. There were a good amount of reptiles that died, but very few fish. The only fish that really died were the ones in the tanks right near the fire that exploded. The survivors were brought to the local petsmart and adopted.

You can see me on the stairs at 1:04 in this video. They also show the rescued animals, also if you let the video run after the 1st one it will run a commercial then play a different one:

Many folks don't like PetSmart but they really do a lot of good work and rescues like this for animals.

Thats a sad excuse for a manager, especially one who wanted to attempt to buy the store. He doesn't deserve to own any animal, whether its his own or to sell.

something bad like this happened to me too. about 3 years ago i sold all my tanks and fish (oscars, knifes, JD's, eels, angels, you name it) and bought a few guinea pigs and a rabbit from the store i bought all the fish from, a small store in a slummy neighborhood. however the fish and animals were well taken care of so i didnt mind. i bought about 100$ of fish a week from them and eventually they gave me 15% off anything i bought, that was when i still had fish then. i had to board the animals at that store when i went away for a month and figured if i bought them there they should take good care of them, right? and i was paying 20$ a day for it. when i got back, all but 1 died, 1 a week from a freak unknown virus, no suffering, just immediate death. one died right away, and i thought that was bad, then a day later another GP looked bad so i went to the vet and another 300$ later that one died, then a week later the rabbit died. they were all young and i had them for less than a year. the one that survived i got it a friend and a kept them for a month then i gave them to a nice person my parents knew and the person has cats that actually like to be around guinea pigs as friends. the store that i was always at is now mysteriously closed down.

some people just arent fit to keep animals. after all the crap that happened to me i got a betta as a gift and then the whole aquarium thing came back. lol

From what I could tell, considering the store was half burnt, it looked like a decent store. There was no overcrowding of animals or anything like that. Just a manager that couldnt afford to buy the store so he torched it.
