The blue acara & the severum would probably get knocked around by the Jag or the dempsey, especially as they get bigger(you've got aggressive mixed w semi-aggressive). The Jag (especially if it's a male) will try to claim that whole tank as it's territory eventually. That list you give is too much fish for a 240. I would knock it down to the jag, dempsey,1 oscar, & the synodontis.

Agree with the above. You will need to keep only aggressive species that can hold their own against a jaguar. Even the oscars may get beaten up.

Agreed whole heartedly. Dont mix acara's and sevrums with Jags...

and @Aeon... beware of that rabbit!

I would try it, but be ready for drama. That tank might work for a while but it might get to be a couple too many when they reach adult size. The less aggressive cichlids will either learn to be mean or they might get forced into hiding and become stressed. If it gets to that point you will have to move them into another tank for the fish's sake.

I wouldn't try it at all. Very low chance that things will work out.

The easiest thing to do here would be to not get a Jag. Everyone else can co-exsist fine (depending on the individual fish of course). If you are set on the Jag then I agree with the others. The severum and Acara will not survive. JD and Oscars maybe and I stress the word maybe.

I hate being left hanging when the OP doesn't come back with what he did...LOL
