So I have a 135 gallon tank with a DIY overflow and sump. Immediatly after my cycle i put about 15 guppys in there until I aquired the stock I was after. I have since gotten the other fish but went a head and left the guppys in for now, b/c the Cichlids are all babys.

Anyways, I come out the other day and all the guppies where gone exept 2 females.....I thought maybe they had been eaten. Well today I went to do a water change and to clean out the sump. I open the lid and there were all the guppies. Guess they go sucked in the over flow and wiggled through the filter....:hmm3grin2orange:

Hahaha, yeah they were all alive....just hanging out in the dark. And its been a good two weeks since I did a water change (im blaming the holidays). I guess they were just eating extra food that was passed down the pipe or who knows

I had a little clown fish end up going to a ride into my sump once. Thank goodness he was alright when I found him in the sump.

I had to put a small screen over the internal overflow to make sure he could not get in there again

Well the wierd thing is that after I put them back in the tank, about two hours later two of the males jumped out to their death. Wonder if the light was stressing them out after being in the dark for over a week

my filter (sort of a DIY built in canister) is infested with RCS and snails. I've even seen snails inside the mesh bags that hold the biomedia, but they're too big to get out. They must have crawled in when they were tiny and then got fat eating biofilm.

Below is what I had done to prevent any more fish from going into the sump
