I have two Gouramis one Three Spot and another an Opaline mix, I also have six guppies and a Pleco. What fish could be introduced in my 25 gallon tank that won't be aggressive towards my Gouramis and my other fish? I was thinking of getting a Boesemani Rainbow, any other suggestions?

That is about full but you could look into like platys or mollies.

Not the rainbows. They need several of their own and lots of room to swim. Your tank will be too small for the pleco, as well, as they get very large.

The 3-spot is a rather aggressive gourami (also called the blue gourami) as well as the gold and the moonlights. All get about 4 inches and can get quite ornery with one another. It's best to stick with one each of those, in my opinion. I've had all three and had problems when I got them "friends" but they did fine alone.

Boesemani Rainbow's would be a great addition but they are schooling fish and I think your tank may be small for Boesemani Rainbow's. A pair of Bolivian Rams would be nice.

Check out the compatiblity charts. Those are nice to have as a general reference for ideas.

From my experience....gouramis are bad community fish. They are peaceful as stated everywhere but they don't really go with anything. They are slower and keep to themselves. Mine are more of a pain in the ass in my community tank now I think. They are beautiful fish but I kind of regret getting them.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've remeasured my tank and its actually 30 not 20 gallons. Still, I've decided to get two female Gouramis instead of getting the Rainbows. When my Pleco gets bigger i'll put it in a bigger tank, he's only 2 and a half inches it will take several years before it will outgrow the tank.

29 gallons is 30x12 and 30 gallons is 36x12. Big different that 6 inches makes in stocking.
