If I had a empty 10 gallon, can I buy 1 or 2 salamanders or newts in there. Do they need special requirements and if yes, what? I think I'm planning on getting some red bellied newts, or salamanders. Since they need land, the tank should be like half full right. And there should be some rocks and wood for it. Can I add some fishes in too. Do salamanders or newts eat fishes, or would the fishes eat it? Like a small common goldfish. What food do salamanders and newts eat, do they eat fish pellets too?

Forget the goldfish. I have 2 firebellied newts, an african dwarf frog, and a crowntail betta in my 10g. I have it half filled with water with a penplax in-tank filter. I have rocks and such built up to come out of the water and fake wood also. I feed what I feed the rest of my fish when It comes to frozen food, they like blood worms. I also place a few crickets in there. When they eat them out which takes a long time, I add some more.

Thanks. I will have pics soon (I hope you aren't being sarcastic). The only fish, well the only one I have ever seen is a betta in a smaller tank like that.
