I saw the previous post but wanted to ask specifically about the heater...

We have a betta in a 1.5 gal tank with a heater. Just did a 50% water change on Weds night. I noticed this morning a white fuzz developing on the bottom of the heater. There are a few particles floating on the surface too. The fuzz has appeared since we upped the temp to above 75 degrees. He loves the warm water, but I am afraid the fuzz will hurt him!

Our betta seems to be happy- he is super active, eats, no signs of stress or illness. No fuzz on him at all.

How do I wash the heater? And how can I wash the glass? I know I'm not supposed to use soap but rinsing doesn't seem to do much. TIA!

Do not use cleaning products. Wipe it off with a paper towel It should not effect your fish.

Thanks! I just moved the heater and found that the fuzz isn't on the heater; it's particles in the water that settled on the heater.

I'm going to do a good water change and feed less. Fingers crossed.

Edit: I just read that the particles may be from the water conditioner.
