The title says it all. I got a 3000L / 800 gallon pond to stock. My two main ideas it to move my 4 koi to it. They are now in a 400 gallon pond with some other fish. Or to get a few Jags, Dovii or possible friedrichstalii to go in their.
Some other alternatives I have been toying with have been pastel cichlids, tropical gars or anableps (four eyed fish)
Any thoughts or suggestions that might help me make up my mind.:help:

I know it wasnt one of the chose choices but a red tail cat really looks good in a pond.May get too big for an 800 gal though. My fish shop had one in a pond about that size for years and it was menacing looking.

Would be a nice choice but likely very hard to get a hold of here. I never seen one for sale at least. All other species I am mentioning (except koi) are native. Maybe when my import license get finished.
Something I would love to keep in there but that I only seen once in this country is a few arowana.

I'd go with the Anableps, being surface swimmers they'd be the most visible.

Both gars and anableps are very interesting fish. The anableps provide a lot of surface activity, which makes up for their lack of color.

When/ if i see arowana I will def get some and shuffle things around as needed to make space. Rays wouldnt be bad either.

With the exception of koi, color will be very limited for ariel viewing... I'd suggest a light substrate to contradict dark colored fish. Ever consider a paroon shark??? With their long fins, theyed look awesome from up top! May get too big though.
