Ok this may be a strange queston as must people try to keep algae out if their tanks I want to grow some. I have a few mbuna in a 29 gallon and since their diet is mostly herbivore I would like to let a little algae grow for a broader diet. What would be the best way to grow algae without letting it take over. Using a t5 with 2 18 watt lamps if that helps.
Thanks DougStanley

The best way would be to place some rocks in tupperware containers outside where theres lots of sunlight. Add the rocks to the tank and then put them back outside when they are clean. You can keep as many of you like going to have a consistent source of food.

Thanks I never thought of something like that better than having algae all over everything in my tank. So just add water to a open bowl with a rock in it and good to go?

Drop in a bit of dirt to speed up the process and make the algae grow faster. If you know an unfortunate person with hair algae, get a tuft of it and add it to the bowl.
