View Full Version : Strange Algae on Lotus Leaf

I have a strange situation in my tank, only ONE of my lotus leaves is covered in green algae with two balls of furry black algae balls (?).

I have lots of plants in the tank and the lotus has lots of other nice healthy leaves with no algae.

My otocinclus won't touch it!

Should I cut the one leaf off and get rid of it?

Thanks for any input!

Here is a photo.

removing the leaf is your best bet. Algae tends to take over on old, dying leaves... the plant will be better off without it and the tank will look better.

Thanks Bhrino.
I'll cut the leaf today - it's WC day!

I love watching the tank evolve, and glad for all the help on here!
