How long has that been there?

Is it possible that it has bumped up against something and it left a mark?
Is that a JD is with the oscar?Do they get along or is territory becoming an issue?

As long as you are sure!:22:

Is there any decor that the fish may get injured on?

Only stabbing in the dark and will leave to the experts but that appears to me to be the beginning stages of hexamita. Fish will get tiny holes that fill with white stuff that looks like fungus (but is not) and then end up with permanent pitting.

I had a blood parrot with exactly the same thing and those pits would fill up and turn white again every couple of weeks.

PS......If this fish has had this for 6 weeks and it continues to return, that's another thing that points to hexamita.
