I have no direct experience with L18s but there are 2 articles onsite here: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/pleco/goldennugget.php
http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fish/goldennugget.php

& a thread on them here: http://www.bristlenoseworld.com/t2564-breeding-and-sexing-golden-nugget-pleco-s

It doesn't like it's easy to breed them but good luck. :22:

almost all gold nuggets are wild caught. not many successfull aquarium spawnings I have ever heard of. very hard pleco to raise to maturity and almost no adults available.

If you would like to try your hand at German or wading through a translator there is a gentleman in Sweden that has written up his successful breeding attempts here:

Crispy is correct that they are primarily wild caught. However I think the availability in my area is pretty high, so ymmv. The lfs I shop at routinely has a handful in their tanks for sale.
