Didnt know where to put it so i thought here, at my local pet shop they had about 10 - 12 texas cichlid from 3 to 7 inchs in tanks with 3 inch red tiger oscars and they dont seem to be in any fighting conditions so is it safe to keep a texas cichlid with an oscar in a large tank

maybe, then maybe not. texas cichlid will grow to 14 inches or more. they get bigger than the oscar. are very quarrelsome with all fish!! nice mean fish!!

Yes. But cichlids are aggressive fish so you will still have to keep an eyey on them since there always can be trouble in paradise. Just choose Texas cichlids that are somewhat the same size as your oscars.

It is not easy to sex texas cichlids but the males have longer top and bottom fins and are usually larger than females.
