View Full Version : Not sure what plant this or why it's turning brown

Heyy I'm having difficulties with this plant. I have a few planted in aquarium they seem to start dieing one day then the next look half decent. Not sure what the plant is or why it is dieing could use some help. Thanks

Im pretty sure that its not aquatic,thus the browning.

Really? The pet store sold it to me as aquatic. Any idea what type of plant it is?

Looks like Mondo Grass (http://www.plantgeek.net/plant-220.htm) to me, More on it here. (http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/myplants/102-Mondo_Grass_Ophiopogon_japonica.html) Take it out before it simply rots away.

Lots of things are sold lots of ways lol, This is a good example of why it's important to always research anything you intend to put into your tank.

But, Being an informed customer can help prevent issues such as this. :22:

Yes, agreed that it looks like Mondo grass which is definitely not aquatic.

It really does look like mondo grass however. I took one of the plants out and it simply dried up rather quickly and doesn't look to healthy at all.
