As i cant get these here, I was thinking of taking a trip to the car accessories shop.

I would think that the Blue LED's they use to illuminate cars at night must be the same?

What do you think? As i know i will be able to find them here....

Cheers

Where are you located? Moonlight LED's for aquariums are found in many pet stores around the world. There are very expensive and elaborate systems to very simple systems that only cost a few dollars.

I use the LED's from Marina, they have little suction cups on them and can be placed anywhere in our outside the tank (they are waterproof). You can hook-up 3 LED's to one base unit (which plugs into the wall). Currently, I have 1 each on my 10g tanks and 2 on my 29g tank. They also only cost about $10 each.

As far as the car/audio/accesory LED's go, I'm quite sure you can use them. I don't think it'll make much of a difference unless you have a reef tank where I understand it plays a larger role.

I went and got a few car ones. took the cigarette lighter off it and rewired it to a 220- 12vpsu. Worked well, A Bit "HeathRobinson" but looks good.

I;ll keep an eye out around the stores for the real deal....

They'll work fine, just make sure they don't get damp (unless they're waterproof). You should post a picture so we can see how it looks like.

BTW, here is a link for the ones I have on my tanks ....

.... as I wrote earlier, I have one each on my 10g tanks and 2 on my 29g tank. They are very cheap and work very well. As well as the blue one, you can also get them in red, green and white and are completely submersible.
