Hi. I am new to this site and think this forum is great.
I am getting back into collecting fish after 25yrs. of collecting kids, LOL.
I am leaning in the direction of Flowerhorns but am not sure if they are freshwater or saltwater.
I had saltwater decades ago and I think it would be to much work now.
I am also considering Blue Moorii Cichlids and other Amazon Cichlids. Also would it be ok to put 12 young 2" to 3" Cichlids in a 55gal. aquarium.

Please feel free to drop me an E-mail at cwright7@new.rr.com

Welcome to AC. Flowerhorns are freshwater Cichlids, and are a hybrid of two or three species and were developed in Asia 10 years or so ago.
It's OK to put a dozen in a 55 for a short time as long as you have alternate quarters available when aggression breaks out, and also when they grow up, as a 55 is far too small for adult large Cichlids.

Welcome. I would not be looking at large cichlids unless I had a large tank.
