Wife got a small black moore for her tank, and it stayed completely black up until about a month ago, it began to slowly turn gold colored. I've never seen a googly eyed gold black moore before, but i look in her tank and that thing is now solid gold. What happen??
BTW, we now refer to this fish as Micheal Jackson.

HAHAHA! I love the name....it suits him!
As for the color changes, i have heard that they could be changing color because of stress, poor water quality, or because they are getting older.
Just something to think about.

I'd say it's getting older.
This can happen in the goldfish family.

Not necessarily age. Moores have been crossed and recrossed for decades. The gold change happens seemingly at random, and is fairly common in black moores. They are just as likely to turn black again, or stay gold the rest of their days. Unless the poster's fish is approaching 10 years old, which to my experience is their life span properly kept, it isn't age that brought about the change.

Goldfish change colors all the time. In general white is on the bottom, orange in the middle, and black on top. That is why many buy a solid blac one, only to have it turn gold, then solid white. My solid orange ranchu is now getting a lot of black since he is now in a tank with black sand and a black background. However, black moors are a different breed. Just like with dogs, certain things are usually strong in certain breeds. With certain breeds of dogs there are certain colors that you will see, and others you will not if it is truly pure-bred. In general black moors are very stable in their black coloration (except for varying amounts of bronze on their belly). It may be a mix, or a black telescope eye (telescope eye is one of the common names for other goldfish that look like a black moor except for the color) that is now losing its black. Either way it sounds fine, so unless there is something else going on (bad ammonia problems, he is getting picked on, etc.) it should be nothing to worry about.
