Swordtail dead or just sleeping

This morning I found the swordtail in the corner behind the powerhead in a vertical position nose up, barely moving. I left for work thinking when I get back I'll be dealing with a dead fish. He's now alive and well, just like his old self, phew am I glad.

Is that normal behavior for swords? Was he sleeping in that position? Has anyone seen that before?

Sleeping, most likely. That is not typical "awake" behavior for swords.

lol. I wouldn't say it's typical sleeping behaviour either. then again, maybe he just got wedged in there. I've seen them sleep at the surface, sometimes behind the filter but usually horizontal or sort of on an angle for the males. Is it a really big one?

Mine used to sleep behind the filter like that.
