Honestly, it's a good thing it's taking me forever to get my tank because it's taking me forever to paint this stand.
I asked for acyrlic BLACK and got this god-awful crummy gray shown in the picture. I mean, could it be any further from black compared to the stand next to it? I painted it twice thinking a second coat might darken it. Nope. I took the paint back and asked them to add more black pigment. Painted it again and it was still ugly gray. Then I added a high gloss varnish thinking maybe if it had a shine to it, it would appear blacker. Nope.
Today I gave up the ghost and got hi-gloss BLACK paint and painted it again for the 4th time. And it is black finally. (One more coat to go.)
If the tank was somewhere besides staring me in the face all day, I could have dealt with it but uck........I do think they could have given me a discount on the paint I bought today since the first paint was obviously not mixed correctly but no way. $42 invested in paint for this stand. sheesh!
Painting something 6 times is a bit excessive?
